The Scapegoat

Lila had been working at Acme Inc. for three years, consistently delivering excellent results and going above and beyond for her team. However, things took a turn for the worse when a new management team was brought in to "shake things up."
It started with subtle comments from her manager, John, questioning her work ethic and dedication to the company. Lila brushed it off, knowing her track record spoke for itself. But as the weeks went by, the criticism intensified. John would claim that Lila hadn't completed tasks she knew she had, and he'd cc the entire team on emails berating her for missing deadlines that never existed.
Confused and frustrated, Lila tried to defend herself, but John would twist her words and make it seem like she was being insubordinate. Her once-supportive colleagues began to distance themselves, not wanting to be caught in the crossfire.

The final straw came when Lila was accused of mishandling a major client account, resulting in the company losing a significant contract. She knew it was John who had dropped the ball, but he convinced upper management that Lila was to blame.
In a matter of days, Lila found herself sitting in a boardroom, surrounded by stern-faced executives. They presented "evidence" of her misconduct, all of which had been fabricated by John and his team. Lila tried to explain her side of the story, but it fell on deaf ears. The decision had already been made.
With a heavy heart, Lila packed up her desk and left the office, her reputation in tatters. As she drove home, she couldn't help but wonder how things had gone so wrong. She had been an exemplary employee, but in the end, it was her word against management's, and she had lost.
Lila knew that she would have to start over, but she also knew that the truth would eventually come to light. She just hoped that when it did, the real culprits would be held accountable for their actions. Until then, she would keep her head held high, knowing that she had done nothing wrong, despite what the company had led everyone to believe.
