Individualistically Merited Collective Anonymity (IMCA)

Some of the most important finding and creations in human history go the way of the crapper; some forgotten name or mistranslated story of who really created what, replaced by who first successfully marketed or disseminated the innovation or novelty.
example circulating the internet, somewhat recently:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tu_Youyou
You, oh Youyou Tu, forgotten?
Tutu (sidebar: Desmond tutus alive; quiz: 1- did you remember him; 2- how many famous Africans can you name off the top of your head).
Not forgotten. We remember the greats (but let’s collectively… let’s forget the terribles except as cautionary tales, or stories).
But No, @tossinthisshit1 remarked on reddit:
“she's forgotten because:
• she did her work in the service of what was, at the time, a pariah state. the PRC during the 60s was hated by both the soviet union and the united states.
• her work was literally published anonymously.
• she was not recognized internationally until she won the lasker prize in 2011 (the first award she ever won, despite being one of the most lauded researchers in her home country) and the nobel in 2015. when she won the nobel, it was a big deal and some of you might recognize the happy birthday joke from when she was first talked about on reddit after winning that prize.
side note: she was the first person to test dihydroartemisinin, in the spirit of many medical researchers who came before her, deciding to test her creation on herself before testing it on others.”
Hmm… better recognized late than never though, huh?

There’s some joy to getting to be alive and be appreciated for your contributions to the planet that you’re still a part of.
It’s really what being in heaven feels like; that moment you feel good and appreciated for being recognized for your contributions. But not just by anyone; by someone who really understands what you’ve sacrificed from yourself and contributed to the world.
What’s holding you back from contribution to your world? Your family, your friends, colleagues, neighbors, strangers on the road - they’re all people like you and us, right?
Well no… there are folk with varying biases or knowledge and some to definitely be avoided and actively socially distanced from: pro-covid people (aka self proclaimed “anti-vaccination-ers”, or as they now don’t like to be called “anti-vaxxers” for brevity), wingnuts (eg warmongering, gun worshiping, “patriot er’ die” folk), ghouls and gremlins, etc…
But otherwise… socialize…
Learn about society and what it needs because it’s a part of your world and you may be a part of some singular society, part of a plural group, part of a part of a part of a ; the Jimmy Cliff song referenced in SGWs other post; we all are one.
But it’s ok to differentiate because that’s what we are; non-fungible-meat-bags-with-brains
Brainsssss
We need more brains….
Happy holidays Y'all (yule? us'all?)?
Happy Yallidays.
yalla.
